Meet Jonathan
Senior Project manager

My name's Jonathan. I'm a Senior Project Manager with ScottishPower. I've been with the company for round about 11 to 12 years now.

I decided to apply for ScottishPower because it offered a great training programme, it was a 2 year training course, and beyond that were some great opportunities for future development and progression.

The best thing about my role at the moment is the opportunity to work on a very exciting network controllable points project, it's around about a £30 million project, and we've got a team of around 20 to 30 really good enthusiastic people to deliver a very worthwhile project.

ScottishPower have supported my career very well since I started in the Graduate Training Programme, I've been able to have a mentor throughout my two year training programme, and then I've had good training and good support ever since.

I've enjoyed most of my time at ScottishPower. I think the most unusual thing I've ever done was probably one of my first days when I started with the company, I got the opportunity to go in a helicopter - patrol the overhead lines, that was really exciting.

On a day to day basis, we're involved with designing and planning and the delivery of the network controllable points. It's quite a wide range of challenges every single day, there's always something coming up. It's good, exciting work and it keeps us very busy.

I think it's very enjoyable working in my department, we think so, we've got a very clear direction of what we need to do and how we need to achieve it. We've got a good team of people, about 20 or 30 of them, who bring great humour, great spirit and a good work ethic to the table.

ScottishPower is a large multinational company with great opportunities for career progression and development, and that's why I recommended it to a friend.
