Major challenges

Benefiting from the backing, support and experience of a world leader, we aim to increase our renewable energy capacity in the UK to 3,000MW by 2015. We also aim to become the first UK utility company to reach the target of 10% of energy produced from renewable sources. Which is why we’re investing in breakthrough technologies and wind farms. In fact, we’ve recently opened the largest operational wind farm in Europe and are developing the world’s biggest tidal renewable project in Scottish and Irish waters.
