Project Management

Shaping the future of our electrical network

We drive forward the ambitious plans and safely deliver the projects that sustain, extend and modernise our extensive electrical network. Taking responsibility for projects and specific capital programmes ranging from £100k - £100m, we co-ordinate all activities and liaise with a diverse range of people from Design Engineers and Procurement to Contractors, Community Groups and Local Authority Planners.

Thriving on the challenge of continually improving our supply network, we oversee the build, refurbish and replacement of ScottishPower network assets, involving substations, overhead lines and underground cables covering a variety of voltages.

Our responsibilities

At ScottishPower Energy Networks, we control a safety critical product. The safety of our colleagues, contractors and the public during every stage of a project is our first priority. Which is why our Project Managers are directly responsible for safety and operational planning, completing safety visits and liaising regularly with outage planners.

Major challenges

Challenged with maintaining and enhancing our electrical system, we ensure a robust security of supply to our customers both now and in the future. No two days are ever the same in Project Management, as we co-ordinate a diverse range of people and activities to deliver improvements on time, to cost and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Careers in Project Management

Project Managers: Self-motivated with good people skills and the ability to set plans and create and inspire project teams, you must be safety focused with a flexible approach. As well as exceptional co-ordination and project management skills, you’ll need a keen attention to detail and knowledge of financial management and forecasting.

Administrators: Well organised with a good attention to detail, you’ll enjoy plenty of variety in a busy office environment, as you help to provide high quality clerical support and ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Project Management Locations

Project Managers can be located at any of the ScottishPower sites throughout the UK.
