We manage and operate ScottishPower’s Transmission & Distribution assets 24\7, 365 days a year. As well as facilitating access to the system to allow planned work to progress and co-ordinate safety management, we respond to unplanned events under fault conditions and oversee the restoration of supplies. Responsible for monitoring the system from 415V to 400KV, we’re involved in a wide range of activities including network security, customer restoration, customer service, and most importantly - system safety.
You must be able to think clearly and logically, communicate effectively and deal with a variety of different situations. Ideally qualified to at least HNC level or equivalent with some HV knowledge or field experience, you should also be safety focused with a flexible approach and the ability to follow rules and procedures, work under pressure and manage changing priorities.
In the control room, you’ll be at the heart of Energy Networks, influencing all aspects of our business from customer service and network investment to faults and maintenance. Here you’ll enjoy plenty of variety and job satisfaction in a rewarding role that’s vital to our future success. You’ll also enjoy good opportunities for development as you gain wide ranging experience across all areas of power supply, developing your knowledge of generation, transmission, distribution, protection and safety.
