“I’m a good example of just how far your career can really go at ScottishPower. My career here began as a Clerical Assistant within our Customer Services Team. And with lots of learning, training and the support of a mentor, I’ve quickly progressed through the ranks.
Always willing to travel and take on new challenges, I soon found myself helping to create a new billing system and call-handling platform. This experience proved invaluable and I was then promoted to Team Manager. My career has since progressed to such an extent that in the last 10 years I’ve taken on nine different management roles. These have included taking responsibility for the security of over 750 people across two sites, managing income of £2 billion and heading up a Contact Centre that handles 1.5 million calls a year. During this time I’ve also gained a Certificate in Business Administration at Glasgow University, become a Senior Black Belt in Six Sigma and have been fortunate enough to travel to America, South Africa, Italy and Spain.”
