A career as a Linesperson

What would I do as a Linesperson?

Working at heights, often in a rural environment, you’d be responsible for installing and repairing overhead lines to maintain power transmission, distribution and the supply network.

What are the most enjoyable aspects of the role?

As well as working outdoors as part of a team, you’ll enjoy a real sense of achievement as you help to maintain energy supplies to thousands of people and gain new skills and knowledge every day working alongside a qualified Linesperson.

What skills would I need?

Self-motivated with a flexible approach, you’ll need to be an enthusiastic team player who enjoys working outdoors. Comfortable working at heights, you should also be practical, well organised and a good problem solver with a positive attitude and the ability to work on your own initiative.
