You’d work on all plant within the power station, carrying out both breakdown and preventative maintenance. The work is varied and involves maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including pumps, fans, valves, turbines and boiler equipment.
Your role would involve working on all the control equipment within a power station, carrying out both breakdown and preventative maintenance on all types of instruments and control loops. The work is very varied and can include working on gauges, transmitters, PLCs, programming, control circuits and panels to ensure the safe operation of the power station main plant.
This varied role involves installing, repairing and maintaining the transformers in substations and the machinery that controls, protects and monitors electricity flow. Working as part of a small team across a range of locations, you’ll ensure that our electricity network meets our high standards by producing quality work, sometimes at heights or in confined spaces.
Working as part of a small team, you’ll enjoy a variety of challenges and the opportunity to work in different locations. You’ll also feel a real sense of achievement as you gain new knowledge and learn new skills everyday, working alongside a qualified Fitter.
You must be self-motivated and well organised with a practical approach and the ability to work as part of a team. You should also be a good problem solver and confident decision maker.
