ScottishPower is committed to equal opportunities for all, irrespective of age, colour, disability, ethnic or national origin, marital status, nationality, race, religion, belief, sex, sexual orientation, or other considerations not justified in law, which are irrelevant to the performance of the job.

To allow us to monitor our effectiveness, everyone who applies for a position with us is asked to complete Equal Opportunities information. Please be assured this information will not be used in connection with the recruitment and selection process, and cannot be accessed as part of the pre-screening process. As a holder of the Disability Symbol, ScottishPower is committed to encouraging applications from people with disabilities. As part of this commitment, the Company operates a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role. The Company is committed to ensuring that candidates with disabilities are able to compete on equal terms with other applicants during the selection process. Eligibility to work in the UK

Changes to the Asylum & Immigration Act introduced on 1 May 2004 increased the obligations on employers to ensure that all employees have the legal right to work in the UK. All candidates must provide documentation proving that they are eligible to work in the United Kingdom at selection interview stage. Download the Eligibility Checklist (pdf, 45kb).

Data Protection

To ensure fairness and consistency in our recruitment and selection procedures, all applications received will be retained on file for a period of six months, irrespective of the outcome. However, if you do not wish this information to be held you should advise us in writing.

Please note: all successful candidates will undergo pre-employment suitability screening - read more about this here (pdf, 45kb).

Positive about disabled people logo

As a Disability symbol user we make 5 commitments:

To interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for a job vacancy and consider them on their abilities.

To make every effort when employees become disabled to make sure they stay in employment.

To ensure there is a mechanism in place to discuss, at any time, but at least once a year, with disabled employees what they can do to make sure they can develop and use their abilities.

To take action to ensure that all employees develop the appropriate level of disability awareness needed to make your commitments work.

Each year, to review the five commitments and what has been achieved, to plan ways to improve on them and let employees and Jobcentre Plus know about progress and future plans.
