International Opportunities

Shaping the world of tomorrow

A truly international organisation, we're one of the largest electricity companies in the world and a global leader in wind power. We employ in excess of 33,000 people in over 40 countries to offer the cleanest energy on the planet to over 27 million customers. Join our team and you could soon find yourself working with our international colleagues and partners on major projects across the world. The profile below illustrates how we've been able to offer immense scope and possibilities to one of our colleagues.

Gordon, Business Programme Director, Energy Retail

Gordon"I began my career at ScottishPower as an Accountancy Trainee, before taking on numerous roles in England and Scotland, including General Manager and Operations Director. I'm currently responsible for delivering a new 'Fully Integrated System Solution' for the UK Retail business.

My role involves working very closely with colleagues across the wider Iberdrola Group, as well as with key partners in Spain. I enjoy learning from new people to improve my skills and enhance my team’s performance. It can be challenging to think about how to do things differently in different cultures. But I’ve always had tremendous support throughout my career, and a course on Spanish culture has proved very useful. During my many years at ScottishPower I’ve been lucky enough to work in many different locations and experience new cultures and challenges."
